Winter 2008 Cover Art

This model, Whisper, was another Craigslist find.  After having done "rural" and "studio" shots, I wanted something with more of an urban feel.  She met me in a coffeeshop in downtown Seattle and we walked around to various sites.

She'd done quite a few shoots downtown and had some great ideas of places to use as backdrops.  Very fun to work with.  She had a great sense of humor and posed beautifully (which is more of a skill than you'd guess.)

in this picture, I loved how the totem pole in the background worked with the blanket over her shoulders to create a tribal look.  The colors in the blanket were very Pacific Northwest, and it all just came together.

Another stroke of luck, a tattoo of flowers on the back of her neck exactly matched the colors in the blanket, which you can see here.

As a bonus, she really is a spinner, and knew what to do when I handed her the spindle.
