Welcome to WeaveZine!
Starting an online magazine is a lot like bungee jumping. You gather the best equipment, learn all you can about the process, but that last step is a leap of faith. In the moment you decide, "I'm really gonna do this," you know you're either going to have the ride of a lifetime...or you're gonna go splat.
The last six months, I've worked hard and it's been a blast. Largely because of the wonderful and talented folks I've had the pleasure of working with.
The thing about starting a magazine, is that you don't take that bungee jump alone. The writers, the advertisers, they're jumping with me: trusting in my skills as an editor, trusting in the content, trusting that there will be an audience for an online weaving magazine.
Is the world ready for an online weaving magazine? Yes, I think it is.
Knitting, bless its pointy needles, has brought a new generation to fiber arts, injecting these traditional crafts with new ideas and enthusiasm. The internet has helped people from all over the globe connect and exchange information.
Online magazines like Knitty, Crochetme, The AntiCraft, and Magknits are exciting and inspiring. But when I went searching for the online weaving magazine, there wasn't one...until now.
It is with great excitement that I unveil WeaveZine. I hope you find it as inspiring to read as it was for me to edit.
