Server Food? What's that About?

I had doubts about accepting donations on what is now a commercial site.  But in a conference call, Michele Ritan, WeaveZine’s assistant editor (who volunteers her time), changed my mind.  Essentially she said: who are you to make that decision for people?

So to give people options and honor the folks who’d like to contribute a variable amount instead of purchasing a supporting membership, I’m accepting donations of “server food.”  These are non-tax-deductible donations that will be put into a dedicated savings account and used only to pay server hosting fees.  My server hosting bill currently runs about $1200/year…it’s a hungry server.
