Gorgeous black handspun with sapphire-colored seed beads from Mary S. in MN. It is so lovely! I may have to make some special heddles to let the beads go through without damage.

Beaded Yarn

I had some gorgeous beaded silk yarn that I wove into a blanket for my Mom's 80th birthday, and must warn you that it isn't easy to use as a warp yarn. Many of the beads got caught on the heddles and broke away, or created tugging/tension problems. Good luck--it's beautiful stuff!

Big-eyed heddles

I once had a chat with Judith MacKenzie McCuin, where she described making heddles that had super-big eyes (like shower-curtain ring sized) and I was thinking about trying something like that.

Or perhaps treating them as a supplemental warp and handling them with a pickup stick.  I'll get it to work some way!
