44: Joanne Hall

Printer-friendly versionPrinter-friendly version

Ensemble member Anna Zinsmeister interviews Joanne Hall about swedish looms and draw-loom weaving.  And Rose Meacher tells us the story of what the Weaver's Guild of Greater Baltimore is doing to celebrate their 60th anniversary.

Note: Anna was able to take the workshop with Joanne Hall (and thus arrange this interview) with help from others.  She received a grant from HGA, the Mearl K. Gable II Memorial Grant, as well as a gift from Russell Groff.  She would like to express her thanks.

draw loom weaving

First, Syne, streaming works just great now!  But much more than that -- this podcast is absolutely fantastic!  Now I'm just dying to see a real article with photos or maybe even videos!  This is one topic that I haven't seen demonstrated or illustrated in books and it is absolutely fascinating -- I'm using my imagination to picture how it all fits together, but I'd just love to see if I'm right....  Also, I kept thinking of your desire to write in your weaving -- are you asking Santa Claus for a draw-loom unit to add to your loom???!!!
