42: John Marshall
Produced by Syne Mitchell on October 24, 2009
WeaveZine is back in the studio! I'm back from hiatus with new ideas for the show. We've got an interview with John Marshall, an expert on Japanese textiles and techniques, and cars play a surprisingly large part in this episode.

Audio downloads working?
I'm trying something a little different with the audio downloads this go around. Please let me know if the download is working for you.
If you have errors, please report them, with as much detail about how exactly the error occurred as possible.
Thanks!
audio downloads
I tried clicking everything I could think of, but streaming wouldn't begin. I'm downloading and saving to my own computer now.
download
I also had a problem with the download but was able to save to my computer.
downloads
It will only download the into--about the first 29 seconds whether I click "play" on the Weavezine site or whether I download it to my computer.
Good listening for a Sunday
I just listened on the computer. What a lovely way to end the day! I am glad to know there will continue to be WeaveCast. Thanks!
Working fine
I listened over my computer right from your site with no trouble. Welcome back.
New show
I love that you recorded the intro while sitting in your car.
More details?
Hi, Can I get a few more details about this issue? It'll help me try to sort it out.
Can you tell me what browser you are using and what part of the world you're trying from?
Thanks!
audio downloads
I'm back again, just to check if it might be working now, but with IE8 there's nothing to click on to be able to stream the audio. Downloading and playing it back works fine though.
Flash?
The streaming audio player uses flash, so perhaps you don't have the plug-in its looking for installed? Or perhaps you've turned off flash in IE? That's a couple of first thoughts.
I just tried the site in IE8 (on Windows) and the streaming audio player worked just fine.
(Sometimes building web applications is like co-building a tower of legos, only you don't get to see what shape or size the other builders are using... )
ITunes...
Couldn't find Ep 42, but I downloaded it into the Itunes folder and it sees it.... Weird, huh?
iTunes
Do you mean that iTunes wasn't able to download the file, but that when you manually downloaded it and added it to your iTunes library it worked?
Tis wierd. iTunes grabbed it just fine on my computer.
To investigate this more I'd need info about your operating system, locale, version of iTunes, etc. There are so many variables that play into these kind of errors, including random server glitches.
Hopefully it was a one-time thing, if it persists, let me know.
Thanks!
Download fails
I managed to download one podcast fine yesterday (38, colour and design) but all the others go all the way through the download (or have .1MB left to download) and then I get a download failed message. I'm in New Zealand on a slow mobile broadband (it's taking about 6 minutes to download 50 MB) using Vista and IE8 with Zonealarm as a firewall.
The podcasts are brilliant tho
Jenny
How frustrating...
I'm sorry that you're having download issues. Have you tried the latest one? I'm wondering if the shorter link will work better for your connection.
I'll check in with my host to see if there's anything we can do about your woes on this end, but it may be one of the server relays between here and New Zealand.
However, materials used to
However, materials used to make Watches Fake are worthwhile. They do not appear inferior to the original watch either in grandeur or longevity. Longines Watches UK on the other hand belong to a category which at best can be called cheap and unworthy. They never give you your desired level of satisfaction. A Fake Rolex Watches is never an exact replacement of a designer or branded watch.
